There are three main sources of energy that benefits every woman tremendously: Moon, Earth and Water. If we think about it, all three of them are somehow related to something tangible and physical. Unlike the energy of the space, or sky, this kind of energy actually comes directly from something that we can see or experience in one way or another. The energy of the space is something that we cannot really see or touch.
Let me put it simply. There are two ways us, women, can receive the energy: up from the sky and down from the earth. Think of all the different practices you have been doing, if you have, and notice each one of them either comes from the mother Earth or father Sky, if we speak Native American terms đ
Even if you don’t practice anything at all, there are still things you may have been doing intuitively: praying (sky), gardening (earth), meditating (sky), sitting by the water (earth), visualizing (sky), picking up flowers (earth). And the list goes on. So, if you think you are not into some mumbo jumbo stuff, only the fact alone that you are woman automatically means you probably are into something. You just donât realize it. Yet.
Here we will talk about the energy of the Earth, and the importance of it. I will also cover some ways we can use mother Earth to fulfill us with precious energy and power.
Why Earth?
Over the last several years I have tried and practiced a very large amount of practices. Either out of curiosity or necessity, I would always learn something new from each one of them. However, at some point of my life I realized that I am much more drawn to practices that are somehow connected to earth. Donât get me wrong, I adore flying in the sky and meditate until I donât feel myself anymore. However, often times when I come back, I would feel like I am not entirely back. I would feel like I am still there somewhere, up in the sky, and even though I received this feeling of lightness, something lacks.
What was lacking was my other part of the practice â grounding part. Only later on I learned that every time you do something that gives you that feeling of freedom and flight, it is important to counteract it and do something to get back down to your body. And practices of grounding, or any kind of practice that would include Earth, are actually perfect for that.
Girls vs Boys
For women specifically, it is more crucial to do something to stay in contact with the Earth more than for men. Naturally, women are born already connected to the divine. Girls are pure and quicker to learn things, they are more obedient and more sensitive by default. All of this is only means that a girl is a perfect divine being right from the day she was born. That is why in India a birth of a girl is considered as a very big blessing to the family.
Boys, on the other side, are very down to earth and simple since day one. They are the one who need to work and grow, spiritually and emotionally, to make their way up to the Divine. I may talk about this difference in some other post. In brief, it is a given that woman is already in contact with the father Sky and all things divine. So for her it is very beneficial to connect herself with the earth once in a while.
Signs of Earth Energy Loss
Stability is one of the main qualities that Earth gives us. Here are few signs that we lack the energy of the Earth and need some grounding.
- Feeling of emotional distance, feeling of strangeness towards yourself, instability in life, lack of joy.
- Sexual disorders, inability to enjoy and receive pleasure (energy of the Earth directly connected to lower part of our body â first two chakras).
- Lack of money or its absence.
- Inability to make your plans, dreams and projects come true.
Practices
Time to take a look at some practices. As always, they are all easy and simple to do. And most important part â they give you instant result, whether you actually feel it or not. Trust me.
Quickies
- Barefoot walking. Just take your shoes off and walk on that grass, sand, even snow. Any amount of surface and any time.
- Gardening. Working with the earth directly and touching the soil and plants will charge you quickly. Plant something.
- Lay on the ground right on the grass. Do it in summer time, it is better to avoid a cold ground for our feminine health.
- Walk or hike. Take a walk in the park, of better in the forest or somewhere in the wilderness, if you have access. Just walk and enjoy the colors, scents and sounds around you
- Hug a tree. Yes, that simple and it charges you almost instantly.
- Pick flowers/berries/mushrooms/herbs. Anything that you can touch with your hands that grows will nourish you.
- Have fun in the mud. If you are given this chance – do not miss it and bath in the mud. Besides being fun, this will also fill you with the energy of mother Earth.
- Belly dancing. Or any dancing.
- Yoga poses that are aiming to get you grounded â all low poses as well as a Tree Pose.
- Pottery class.
- Drink more water.
- Eat root vegetables.
- Eat more vegetables of orange and red colors: oranges, pomegranates, cherries, apples, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, radishes, grapes.
- Take baths with salt.
Additionally, I have a couple things that are very grounding for me personally. I love incenses a lot and I have many different kinds. However, I noticed that the types that are made of herbs (sweetgrass, alder, balsam fur, sage) are definitely more grounding and put me at ease. I enjoy pure oriental scents too, like sandalwood or tulsi, however I like burning them when I meditate and want to connect to something up there. đ Also, I noticed that I generally prefer music that is somehow in sync with nature â drums, shamanic melodies, nature sounds, birds, sounds of waves.
Long practices
They are not actually long but just take longer time and some minor preparation. Generally, they donât take more than 15-20 minutes of your time.
Morning practice
Get up as early as you can (ideally â 4-5 am) and go outside. If it is warm season, go barefoot. Walking on the earth and grass with morning dew is already very healing and nourishing for women. Pick a spot and stand up there. Close your eyes. Focus on your breath and relax. Imagine how the energy of the earth goes inside your feet when you inhale. Visualize, how this energy gradually fills your entire body. Try to feel the heaviness, coolness and moisture of this energy of earth. Those are the qualities that this energy possesses. Breathe slowly and deeply. As you exhale, visualize how this energy equally distributes throughout your body. Do that as long as you feel like doing. When you feel that you had enough, mentally say âThank you!â to the mother Earth and what it has given to you now.
Rock practice
Pick a good rock. It can be any kind of rock of any size anywhere. Ideally, it is good if it is a natural big rock somewhere outside. Also, you may use rocks you already have, like quartz or granite, or marble. Stand up. Touch this rock, or hold it, and try to mentally connect with it. Try to âfeelâ the rock and its structure, feel its weight and coolness. Now, think about how old this rock is. Think of how long it took the nature to create it and how long it took for a rock to become what it is now. If it is a big formation, it is probably hundred thousands, or maybe millions years old. Now try to visualize how this old energy of the rock fills you in, starting with your hand. It fills you gradually with solidity, confidence, power, stability, coolness, and serenity. Complete and absolute peace. You can feel that just like this rock, you are completely calm and stable now. Solidity and calmness are two main qualities of the Earth.
Tree Practice
This practice can be done anywhere and anytime, especially when you donât have access to an actual earth. Find yourself standing comfortably up straight. Feel your both feet on the ground and feel how stable they are. Now, visualize you have roots that go down and down into the ground. If you donât have the ground, and even if you are on the 5th or 50th floor, you can still imagine that. See and feel, how your roots grow deeper and deeper, and they become thicker and stronger. You are a tree now. With thick branches that go up in the sky, beautiful green leaves and strong roots. You are not afraid of strong winds because your roots go very deep down in the ground. You can feel how you received an energy from the sky, above you, and it goes down towards the earth, dripping from the roots to the ground.
Stay grounded, sweethearts!

Very true, this is really helpful. It helps in staying in oneâs one power, as a woman. Thank you!
So glad it is helpful for you, Martina! <3
