How good are you at the art of waiting? Do you have enough patience to wait for something to happen in life or you take active actions and move forward yourself? If you do the latter, you may be taking on the masculine energy which can drain you at some point.
The art of waiting, or the ability to have patience for things in life, is very rare nowadays. The modern world wants everybody to hustle and be in a rush for just about everything. And if you are not in a hurry, you have a constant FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). Unfortunately, there is no way you can do everything all at once, no matter how hard you try. And even if you try your best, chances are – you will burn out and will be left with no energy or motivation at all.
Passive is feminine
If you experience any of those, you are not alone of course. However, it is a good time now to slow down a little bit and remember that you are a woman. Women stopped waiting, aren’t you agree? We don’t wait for things anymore, and actively approach and pursue them ourselves. But being in the constant action and decision-making state is unfortunately not a feminine state. It is not the state where the woman is nourished. It is the state where she becomes depleted. And it is a simple nature, a feminine nature.
Another feminine nature is being passive. And I don’t mean that in a negative way, I am not saying being lazy or a slacker, I am saying – being able to surrender and trust. It is the hardest thing to do but trust, it is almost the most precious and important skill you can develop for your own well-being. Naturally, women has moments in life when they wait: for when their beloved comes, for when they received a proposal, 9 months of waiting for a baby to come.
What happens when we wait?
While we are being passive, and waiting, something very important happens – we accumulate energy. We will need this energy later on to be able to do the next step, to perform that action when the time is right. And when it is right, we are fully relaxed, grounded and we know what we should really do – because we were not in a hurry, we took our time and we waited.
It is very popular now in a dating world to be proactive and do everything ourselves. As in – pursue a man to be in a relationships and then eventually in marriage. But if we look at all the wise fairy tales, we can notice that princesses are usually the ones who wait, they don’t pursue. Why is this so important, regardless of how old-fashioned, outdated and traditional it may seem? I can bet that when a woman is proactive in dating, she have this subtle feeling like if she had something stolen. Something was taken away from her. Haven’t you noticed that?
What was stolen is her element of gentle quality of femininity. It is not in our nature to pursue, however it is in our nature to wait. This is when we feel most comfortable eventually, and we feel most appreciated, respected and loved as women. Not as men, who could do it all, but as women – from the state of sweet surrender and patience.
How can we learn to wait?
There a few simple things we can do to learn the art of waiting. And you can think of many others that will give you the same sense of serenity and take your mind off of things, giving it a break.
1. Meditation. This tool is a cure for so many things, and especially for impatience. Meditation gives you a break from anything, allows you to tap into your internal sensations and feeling and just tune in with what you are inside. It is a very effective and subtle tool that you can use every day. The longer you can meditate – the better.
2. Art & crafts. Doing something with your own hands is extremely therapeutical and can definitely help you develop patience. The more time you need to finish your work – the better. Just dive into the work and savor every moment of it. This is also another form of meditation.
3. Planting something. This is an excellent way to grow your art of waiting. Especially if you plant seeds. When you plant, you have to really learn to wait when the plant comes out and then to take care of it. Work with plants is also very healing, combined with the act of surrendering and patience.
When you are waiting, you are trusting the universe and start to surrender. You trust that everything will come your way, at the right time and the right moment. And you also know that when it comes, you will be ready.
Have patience and stay beautiful, lovelies!
